Pauline Rochefort was born June 17th 1957, the second daughter of Rolande and Bernard Rochefort.  Both  parents are from founding families of the Lake Nosbonsing region: her mother from Bonfield and her father from Astorville.  Over the years, members of her family have played an active role in the development of East Ferris including her uncle Paul Rochefort who served for numerous terms as Councillor and Reeve and her cousin Bernard Grandmaître as Provincial Minister of Municipal Affairs.  As a young resident of East Ferris, Pauline was active in her community.  She was elected the 1st female President of her high school and then later on President of University of Sudbury.  After a successful career serving in both the private and public sector, Pauline returned home in 2007 and retired in 2012.

 

Pauline est diplômée en commerce de l’Université Laurentienne et détient une Maîtrise en administration pour cadres de l’Université d’Ottawa. Elle a reçu la médaille Trudeau de l'Université d'Ottawa qui reconnaît les mérites de personnes qui se sont distinguées dans le milieu des affaires au Canada. Suite à ses études Pauline a déménagé à Timmins pour son travail et c'est a ce moment qu'elle a épousé son conjoint de 32 ans Ronald Roy. Ils ont travaillé et habité dans divers centres canadiens mais en 2007 ils ont choisi de revenir vivre près de leur famille dans East Ferris et en 2012 Pauline s'est retirée.

 

Since retiring, Pauline has become more active in her parish St-Thomas d'Aquin and has pursued a PhD in entrepreneurship and economic development. She also joined the Board of Directors of 'Centre de Formation Linguistique du Nipissing.' For the 2014 Ontario elections, she served as a Poll Manager St-Joseph's Convent et les Soeurs de L'Assomption. Pauline is an avid sports enthusiast and enjoys biking, curling, golfing, kayaking and walking. In September 2014 she undertook a 900 kilometre trek along the Camino de Santiago in Spain. Pauline enjoy's spending time with her spouse Ronald, her father Bernard and her siblings and their families: Suzanne Kearns, Carmen Weiskopf, Rhéaume Rochefort and Lucie Laperrière Rochefort.
